T-Shirt Quilt Four-Part Workshop for Beginners. This is the first session.
What are you planning on doing with all those commemorative t-shirts? I'll teach you how to turn them into a brand new, durable t-shirt quilt!
This Workshop Comes In Three Parts:
Intermediate Skill Level, Ages 14 and up, February 10th from 10am-2pm at The Sewing Hive, 3455 Indianola Ave, Columbus
- Bring with you, 15-36 uncut t-shirts, Pelon Interfacing 911FF (5 yards for a full-sized quilt. Send email to firstname.lastname@example.org with questions regarding other sizes), your home iron

Learn to construct a durable apron suitable for use in the shop while learning to fit a general pattern to your body with this unique apron made from re-purposed jean materials!
Beginner Sewing: Machine Orientation recommended or some sewing experience required

Learn to create your own criss-cross style shop apron from recycled jeans. You will learn to custom fit and add design a functioning, comfortable and durable apron with pockets and holders to fit your needs.

How To Read and Use A Commercial Pattern At The Columbus Idea Foundry
The instructor will show you how to read and sew using both PDF patterns and printed patterns.
This class will cover how to understand yardage, fabric type, size charts and how to read all those symbols on your pattern! You will leave ready to become more independent and get more enjoyment from advanced sewing classes too.
Includes materials used and a notebook.
Bring any sewing pattern you're working on and get some help preparing it and cutting out your fabric! This is a great class to take if you are in another class that requires you to have your fabric cut our prior to class. YOu can also take this if you're just working on a project at home but wanted some guidance on interpreting the pattern and cutting the fabric.
After this class, you'll have a better understanding of symbols and terminology used in patterns.
